What We're Returning to This Fall
By Flexzone Life Editorial Team
ROUTINE, REIMAGINED - 100 DAYS OF GUIDED BREATHWORK & STRETCHING
This fall, we're building something new: 100 days of guided breathwork every morning, and guided stretching every evening (solo some nights, couples some nights), all of it on our YouTube channel, youtube.com/@flexzonelife, so you can build the habit alongside us.
PARTY OF ONE, BY CHOICE - TURNING POINT RESTAURANT, NEW JERSEY
This fall, that's a quiet breakfast table at Turning Point, no plan, no plus one, just an award-winning brunch and the freedom of showing up somewhere just because you wanted to. Find your own version of a place you go simply because it's yours. Every town has that special restaurant. Go discover it.
MAKING THE MOMENT STICK - AUDIO JOURNALING
Summer moves fast enough that even the good moments blur together. Fall slows things down enough to actually notice them while they're happening.
This fall, the practice is audio journaling, pressing record and talking it out loud, unpolished, unedited, real. There's something a written page can't hold: tone, pause, the exact way a thought sounded the moment it arrived.
No pen, no notebook, just the voice memo app already sitting on your phone, a new use for something you already carry every day.
RETURNING TO OURSELVES - A DIFFERENT WORLD (REBOOT)
Summer calls for a different version of us, the social butterfly, RSVPing yes, showing up for every show, every dinner, every cookout, every happy hour. This fall quietly gives us permission to say not tonight, or not this weekend. Your time is yours again.
Some evenings, that's the whole plan. No RSVP, no plus one. Just comfortable clothes, a drink of choice, and something worth watching that makes you feel good inside. For us this fall, that's the A Different World reboot. It's picking up in real time, the characters we grew up with now watching their own kids walk onto the same campus where it all began.
GOING DEEPER - PICKLEBALL
Summer hands you connection after connection, business cards, new IG follows, a quick “let's exchange numbers.” Most of it stays right there, friendly, surface-level, social in the way social media is social: you show up, you scroll, you like, you move on.
Fall is for going back and finishing what summer started. The social media follow that never became a conversation. The card that's still sitting in your bag. This is the season to be intentional about who gets to move from acquaintance to actual relationship.
If you didn't collect any of that last summer, that's fine too. You don't need old connections to revisit, you can build new ones from scratch, and one of the simplest ways to do that is through a hobby you genuinely have interest in. This fall, we're learning pickleball, not just for the game itself, but also for the people who could move from acquaintance to friend one game at a time.
